Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

CrepeMeet ("CrepeMeet", "we", "us") helps groups find a time to meet. This policy explains what information we collect when you use CrepeMeet at crepemeet.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it plain.

The short version

  • You can create and answer polls without an account or login.
  • Poll content and the availability people add are visible to anyone who has the poll link — treat a poll link like a shared document.
  • We only ask for an email if you want to be notified; emails are never shown to other participants.
  • We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising. We do use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, which sets cookies — see Section 4.
  • Polls and their responses are automatically deleted about 30 days after they're created.

1. Information we collect

  • Poll information you provide — the event name, optional description, the dates/times and settings you choose when you create a poll.
  • Availability responses — the name a participant enters and the time slots they mark as available or "if needed".
  • Optional email addresses — if an organiser signs in (see below) or a participant chooses to enter an email, we store that email to send the notifications you asked for (for example, when someone responds, or when a time is confirmed). Emails are stored privately and are never displayed to other participants.
  • Optional account (Google sign-in) — if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account, via Google Sign-In. Signing in is optional and is only used to let you see polls you've created and to email you about them.
  • Information stored in your browser — to make the app work, we store small items in your browser's local storage, such as a language preference and the private links for polls you create or respond to. These stay on your device.
  • AI poll builder (optional) — if you use the "Build with AI" chat to create a poll, the text you type is sent to a third-party AI service that extracts the meeting details. Only what you type there is sent; please don't include anything sensitive.
  • Purchase information (optional) — if you buy the optional paid extras, payment is handled by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. We never receive or store your card details. We store your order and transaction identifiers, what you bought, and your resulting credit balance, so we can deliver what you paid for and handle refunds. To keep the one free credit to one per verified email address, we also store a one-way fingerprint (hash) of the claiming account's email — not the email itself.

Usage data (analytics) — we use Google Analytics to understand how people use CrepeMeet, such as the pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This helps us improve the product. We do not use advertising identifiers, and we don't sell your data.

2. How we use information

We use the information above only to: operate the poll and show combined availability; calculate and suggest the best meeting times; send the email notifications you opted into; let signed-in organisers find their past polls; and keep the service secure and working. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

3. Public visibility — please read

CrepeMeet polls work through shareable links. Anyone who has a poll's link can view the poll's content and the names and availability that participants have added. Please don't put confidential information in a poll. Optional email addresses are the exception — they are stored privately and are not visible to others.

4. Who we share information with (service providers)

We use a small number of trusted providers to run CrepeMeet, and share only what's needed:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure — we use a reputable cloud platform to host CrepeMeet and store poll data. Data may be processed on servers located outside your country.
  • Email delivery — when you opt into notifications, a third-party email provider sends them on our behalf; we share only the recipient's address and the content needed to deliver them.
  • Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in, Google authenticates you.
  • Payments (Paddle) — if you buy paid extras, Paddle.com processes your payment as Merchant of Record, including your payment details, billing country, and applicable tax, under Paddle's own privacy policy. When you open the checkout we pass Paddle your account email to pre-fill it, and Paddle shares order details with us — such as what was bought and the buyer's email — but never your card details.
  • Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics to measure site usage. It sets cookies and processes usage data (including a truncated IP address) on our behalf. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's cookie controls.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We do not share your information with anyone else, and we never sell it.

5. Data retention

Polls and their responses are automatically deleted approximately 30 days after the poll is created. If you signed in, basic account information from Google sign-in is retained while your account is active; contact us to delete it. Purchase and credit records are kept while your account is active and as needed for accounting, refunds, and legal obligations.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Use without an account — you can create and answer polls without signing in, which minimises the data tied to you.
  • Notifications — every notification email includes an unsubscribe link, and organisers can change notification settings on the poll page.
  • Access or deletion — because most polls are anonymous and auto-expire, the simplest way to remove a poll's data is to let it expire, or contact us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data; contact us and we'll help.

7. Children

CrepeMeet isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Google user data

Our use of information received from Google APIs (such as your profile and email when you sign in) adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use Google account data only to provide and improve the CrepeMeet features you choose to use, and we do not transfer or sell it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, do our best to give notice.
